Nathan received his M.S. in Computer Science concurrently with a B.S. in Mathematics-Computer Science and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University in 2025. His undergraduate and graduate work focused heavily on systems programming; at Brown, he served as a head teaching assistant for all introductory systems programming courses, and helped design and develop a new course which covers the implementation and performance of machine-learning systems. Previously interning at VSI during the summer of 2024, Nathan joined full-time in 2025. His current work at VSI involves performance analysis and optimization of low-level pipelines using SIMD intrinsics, GPU hardware acceleration, and parallelization techniques.
